Delete Your HailPing Account
You can ask us to delete your HailPing account and the personal information associated with it. This page explains what happens, what we may have to keep, and how to submit the request.
1. Before You Delete: Cancel Recurring Billing First
Deleting your account does not by itself cancel a paid HailPing Pro subscription, and it does not stop a subscription billed by Apple or Google. Cancel recurring billing first, then request deletion.
- Purchased through the App Store or Google Play: cancel in your Apple or Google subscription settings. Those marketplaces control cancellation and refunds under their own terms.
If you are not sure which channel billed you, email help@hailping.com with the email address on your account and we will tell you before you delete anything.
2. How to Request Deletion
In the HailPing app. Open your account settings and use the account-deletion control. You will be asked to confirm your identity, and the app will tell you what is deleted before you continue.
By email, without logging in. Send a request from the email address on your HailPing account to help@hailping.com with the subject "HailPing Account Deletion Request". Include the account email address and how you signed in (email and password, Google, or Apple).
We verify deletion requests before acting on them, because deletion cannot be undone. If we cannot match a request to an account, we will ask for information reasonably necessary to identify the records — never for a government identification document or other sensitive file by ordinary email.
3. What Deletion Removes
Deletion means deletion, not deactivation. When we complete a deletion request we delete or deidentify:
- your account record, name, and email address;
- your password credential;
- Google or Apple sign-in links and provider identifiers;
- your industry, role, and account preferences;
- saved markets, alert locations, radiuses, hail-size thresholds, and alert subscriptions;
- device push tokens, so alerts stop;
- report and feature access history tied to your account; and
- active sessions and access tokens, which are revoked.
4. What We May Keep, and Why
Some records survive deletion because the law or the safety of the Service requires it. We keep only what is reasonably necessary, and we do not use it to rebuild your account:
- Transaction, invoice, and tax records — required by tax, accounting, and financial-record obligations.
- Security, fraud, and abuse records — needed to protect the Service and other users, and to investigate incidents.
- Records of your deletion request — so we can show the request was honored.
- Support and accessibility correspondence — retained where needed to resolve or document a matter.
- Legal-hold material — where we are required to preserve information for a dispute, claim, or lawful process.
- Aggregated or deidentified information that no longer identifies you.
Backups follow their normal rotation. Deleted information is not restored to the live Service if a backup is used, and it ages out of backups as they rotate.
5. Timing and Confirmation
We act on verified deletion requests promptly and confirm in writing to the email address on the account when deletion is complete. Storm reports, market pages, and other public HailPing content are not personal to you and remain published.
6. Other Privacy Requests
If you want access to, correction of, or a copy of your information instead of deletion, see Submit a Privacy Request. The HailPing Privacy Policy explains what we collect and how long we keep it.
