HailPing Address Lookup for a car lot in Emporia, Kansas: radar shows hail 1 inch or larger there on 5 days since October 2020, the newest, Aug 5, also the largest at 2.50 inches or more, with a map of the radar-estimated hail
Address Lookup: Emporia, KS.

What a free account shows for an address

The answer comes first, in plain words, before any detail.

  1. Whether hail was estimated there

A plain count: hail estimated at this address on a number of days, or none. Hail estimated only nearby is listed apart, so it is never mistaken for hail at the address.

  2. The largest estimate

The biggest radar-estimated hail size at the address, with the day it fell.

  3. The most recent storm day

Its date, its answer and a map of that day’s radar-estimated hail with the address pinned on it.

Older storm days show as locked, with a count of how many are left to open.

Pro depth

What Pro adds

The same lookup, opened up for work that depends on the full history.

  • Every storm day, with details

The whole day-by-day timeline, and each day’s ground reports, nearby hail and storm report.

  • A hail history PDF to share

One sheet for a picked day or for every day, ready to send to a homeowner or attach to a file.

  • Save the place, and get alerted

Save an address and choose to be alerted when hail is reported near it again.

  • Homes in the same hail

For roofing: the detached homes under the same radar-estimated hail within about a mile, as a rounded estimate and never a list of homes.

  • Check a list of addresses

Paste up to 25 addresses and see how many had hail at them and how many only nearby.

  • Business search by name

Find a business by name and open the hail history at its address.

For PDR and auto body, the same day shows the dealers and lots in that hail instead of homes.

How it works

Three steps, on your phone.

  1. Search an address

Type a street address in the app’s search and confirm the pin on the map.

  2. Read the answer

HailPing checks the hail estimated at that point and around it, then says how many days had hail there.

  3. Open the storm day

See that day’s radar-estimated hail on the map, and the ground reports near the address, to decide what to do next.

Who checks an address

The same answer helps a few kinds of work.

  • Roofing

Check a lead’s roof before the first knock, and show the homeowner the hail dates at their address.

  • PDR

Check a dealer lot or a body shop’s address before you drive out with a crew.

  • Auto body

Check whether a storm reached a customer’s area while you plan for the repair demand.

Radar-estimated hail, not proof of damage

Address Lookup reads hail that radar estimated at an address, beside ground reports filed nearby. It shows where hail was likely, not whether a roof or a vehicle was damaged. An inspection still decides that.

Address Lookup questions

How do I check the hail history of an address?

Open the HailPing app, search the address and confirm the pin. The answer shows how many days hail was estimated there, the largest estimate and the most recent day. A free account is enough for that first answer.

Did it hail at an address?

Address Lookup tells you whether radar estimated hail at the address on any storm day since October 2020, and whether hail fell only nearby. It describes hail that has already fallen. It does not forecast, and it cannot confirm damage.

What does a free account see, and what is Pro?

A free account sees the count of hail days, the largest estimate and the newest storm day with its map. Pro opens every storm day with its details, the hail history PDF, saved places with alerts, the list check and business search. See pricing for plans.

Where does the hail data come from?

The hail sizes are estimated from NOAA radar, and the ground reports are storm reports filed with the National Weather Service. HailPing groups and maps them. It does not run the radar or the spotter network.

Can I share an address’s hail history with a customer?

Yes, with Pro. The hail history PDF puts one picked day, or every day, on a single sheet you can send or attach to a job file. It shows estimated hail, so pair it with your own inspection.

Which addresses are covered?

Addresses in the continental United States. Search a street address, or a business by name with Pro.
