Questions
Is HailPing cheaper than HailTrace?
HailPing publishes its price: Pro is $99.99 a month or $899.99 a year, renewing until you cancel, and a free account covers new storms, state alerts and full reports after 14 days. HailTrace has a free plan and quotes its paid plans through sales.
Do I need a contract or a sales call?
No. You sign up in the app, and Pro is an App Store subscription you can cancel any time in your iPhone settings.
Can I try HailPing for free?
Yes. A free account gets new storms the day they post, state alerts, and every report in full once it is 14 days old. Pro adds full lead lists, exports, radar replay and detailed hail maps.
Where does HailPing's data come from?
Ground hail reports are storm reports filed with the National Weather Service; HailPing receives them through Vaisala Xweather and other public sources. The hail swath on the map is a radar estimate from NOAA MRMS. HailPing groups the reports into storms, usually within a day, and assesses each storm for your trade.
Can I use HailPing for an insurance claim?
HailPing is built to decide which storms to work, not to prove damage at a property. For claim paperwork, use a meteorologist-verified report.
Does HailPing cover wind or tornadoes?
No. HailPing covers hail of 1 inch and larger in the continental United States.
